A month later, I took it to the course for a trial, and that's where it really shines. Bad strikes with my GBB Epic were short smothered pull hooks and huge 50 yard slices. I hit one on heel of the Mavrik: ball still ends up in the fairway, almost no distance lost. Toe hook, I expect it to go hard left in the rough about ; no, in the first cut at Catch one in the middle, my Epic would go ; the Mavrik My only problem is the Mavrik is harder to shape shots, but if you just line it up, it goes where it's aimed.

I went and got fitted for a new driver and found I had the best launch numbers with the Callaway Hyper X tour 9. I picked up about 20 extra yards with a good swing.
We have a long par 4 uphill at our club and the shortest iron I have ever hit to the green was a seven iron. I hit 8 iron this time. Another par 4 I hit it about 20 yards past where I normally land. So far I am very pleased with the results. The club is very easy to hit, very solid, and I like the sound off the face. I tested the fti, ft5, hibore xls, latest taylormade, and cobra drivers. I don't care for the composite drivers. Never have. My current driver is a r, and have a superquad.
My favorite all time driver is the callaway big bertha. I would recomend getting fitted and not to overlook the hyper x tour. I just demo'd and bought one. This thing is amazing for me. Straight and long and feels great. I agree with the talk on here about this being one of the "sleepers" of the year. I'm an 11 hcp. And this should suit a wide range of players. I normally hook the ball. But with this one, my misses were slight fades.
I briefly demo'd a Hyper X Tour 9. I'll also be bringing a few of the E5's that I play, just to keep things equal. As an added bonus, I also got to play with some MP60s that day, and fell in love I'll be making the switch up from the MX23's later this spring or early in the summer.
I recently purchased the 9. I hit every other driver that is currently available to better players and the numbers with the Hyper X were easily better.
High launch and low spin allowed me to not only carry the ball yds farther than any other club, but I also got pretty good roll as well. At the price it's offered for, it's practically a steal. Hit it beautifully the first two rounds I played with it and then, being a shaft ho, put a Grafalloy Epic in it and, honest to God, I've only missed one fairway the past four rounds and picked up another yds.
Best combo I've ever experienced. You'd be a fool not to at least give this driver a try. Feel and forgiveness are very similar, however off center hits travel much farther than the Burner. Just purchased Hyper X Tour 8. My driver spin rate dropped from almost to Miss hits on the toe still maintain ball speed.
Previous driver was a Nickent Genex 10 degree with a ust pro force 65 shaft S and its trajectory was awful carry 2 yards or less roll and all over the place. I had to 86 that driver once I cracked the face on a tee shot last week. I hit 13 out of 14 fairways in my first two rounds with the Hyper X and now getting about yards out of it. Fyi driver speed Extremely forgiving and lower spin than the 07 Burner TP.
Stock shaft isn't very good but thats an easy fix. I really like the heavier swing weight OTR. I can't compare this driver to any of the other new drivers out because I haven't hit them. I bought this driver after playing the Cleveland Launcher Ti for about 3 years. What first attracted me to it was the heavier swing weight and powerful look at address. The Cleveland driver had a Ball flight is higher than the Cleveland and most imprantly, it is much more forgiving. The Callaway is about yards longer on center hits and much longer on off center hits.
The sound is a little loud but overall I am very pleased with the driver. Headcover is very cheap looking, I am really disappointed with it but I bought a magnetic Callaway cover at a local golf shop that works well. I Have a TM Burner 9. My buddy told me about the Hyper X and I'm searching for info. I have 1 word to say about this driver I have been really struggling with the driver lately and decided to try one of these out.
Went to my local shop and picked up a demo in a 10 degree with the stock fit on x stiff and absolutely love it. The thing just goes straight and very flat boring trajectory with very good roll out.
I normally hit a driver so high it brings rain but this one bone stock gave me the trajectory i was looking for even in a 10 degree.
