I can confirm it is not attached to our domain, because I agree that having that sort of security risk would be highly inadvisable.
It is wirelessly attached to my guest Wi-Fi network since it has no need to connect to anything else. I checked the GPO settings in the machine anyway just to make sure there wasn't something still hanging around that would alter the timeout settings. So far, I haven't found anything.
