He removed the invalid drive and, viola, Ghost worked. When you attempt to access an invalid drive in Windows, the OS raises an exception which any 1st year CS student would trap it's probably a lesson in nearly every beginning CS course.
The fact that Ghost just waits endlessly for some invalid drive makes me very uncomfortable as it may indicate a rather poor programming model.
Second, even if Ghost doesn't display the error to the user, why does it continue to wait? Doesn't it have timeouts and such, you know, normal user programming? The third issue for me is why did the letter return and it did after it was removed? Ghost reports this drive is still there as part of the backup media although inactive.
