If their analysts find that people feel the price point for a game is too high, they will lower the price in the hopes of sparking enough interest to overcome the price difference.
It has happened in alot of cases. Games have dropped in price rapidly at times because the hope is more product will sell then. Of course none of this matters since it was a sale, not a price cut. It's temporary. Many many stores do after Christmas sales on products to try to keep the money coming in. Go to Best Buy. Look at the number of sale tags out in the store. It's insane. They are trying to appeal to people to purchase more items after the holiday rush.
Again, I wasn't saying that cutting the price was done to move more units, I was saying it was a possibility. I don't work for the retail store, I don't work for the publishers. Neither do you. We can all sit here and speculate as to the reason, but there's no indication that this is negative thing towards Sony. One small detail: these are 3rd party games. This is a bad sign since it shows 3rd party developers are getting nervious and are trying to brake even. It's not just PS3 games. It was a sale, not a price cut. I wonder if that means those items suck because they are cutting the price on them or sweetening the deal a bit with a sale?
It's spected to have revates or offers on products released more than 1 year ago; not on new games and consoles that supose to be selling like hot cakes. I mean a sale on COD2 or games that have been out for awhile is "normal" Sorry if this is a open ended question.

TaigaTiger 2 years ago 4. The thing is most people don't early adopt consoles and for someone that doesn't own a ps4 it has a lot to offer compared to a newly released ps5 with 10 games at triple the price. So dont expect ps4s to drop in price that drastically.
